Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful posting of your drive across the rust belt. I had done it many times back & forth to 'BIG SKY' country. I fondly remember many of these stations 'old' 'wonderful' formats. Now they are gone and replaced with so much drivel & propaganda..Please continue doing this most interesting, entertaining & historic(!) work. I will come here often and help spread the word.Thank you again! Michael in Dongducheon, South Korea near the DMZ..

I was going to eventually post something about this on my page but since you've brought up the topic of non-real-radio-Radio... I've been using an App on my iPhone called FStream to listen to WBCQ's stream (including area 51) and a few other SWBC streams that normally aren't preprogramed into these iPhone apps when a sw radio isn't handy. With FStream you plug the audio stream URL into the program and if it works... instant pocket transistor radio wannabe time! In the case of the Radio Kitchen, all you have to do is type in:

http://www.mouse-mouse.co.uk/streamer/castcontrol/playlist.php?port=8040&type=pls

and you are in business! This iPhone App is free. After it's saved as a Favorite, you can now listen to the Radio Kitchen radio anywhere. I hate listening to the computer as a radio device but with the iPhone I still get that same great radio sensation even though it's not a real knob twisting analog radio.

I've always wanted a shortwave in the car. You can find them on ebay, and some dealers who advertise on shortwave radio sell them as well.

That's cool to know you listen to downloads from the Radio Kitchen in the car. I always wonder if more people stream the content on each post or whether they download it.
