This station is awesome. My parents live near Poughkeepsie, so I always listen when I'm there (unlike you, I didn't have the presence of mind to tape everything!)

I, too, am saddened they don't broadcast online. I sent them an email a while ago asking if they would consider it, but never heard back.
The main reason I'm leaving a comment is that I seem to have found the next best thing (that's online): KBRD (www.kbrd.org), with a story almost as quirky as WHVW, and a pretty decent webstream of never-hear-it-anywhere-else oldies. I thought you might want to know about it.

If a WHVW stream goes up, I would definitely mention it here. While it wouldn't cost all that much money or know-how, Pirate Joe has apparently decided it isn't a priority. Enough people have certainly asked for a WHVW stream over the years.

It sure would be nice if a listener in Poughkeepsie or Hyde Park would plug a radio into their computer and stream it for them. As I said, it's not hard to do.

Neat little station, wish there were more of them. LPFM should've been providing us with such stations, and in some rural areas they are. But in most urban/suburban areas the FM dial is full. Yet in these same areas, many low-wattage AMers are just running brokered and barely getting by. Hmmmm .... Ideally there should be more WHVW's, but the radio scene today doesn't really give them much chance.

Let us know when WHVW ever decides to stream :)
